A Chinese company had made extensive field discoveries in the area, but production remained limited. However, holding significant prospective acreage in the basin, Our Client sought to unlock its full potential. Leveraging innovative techniques and data analysis, Our Client embarked on a journey to optimize exploration and development strategies, ultimately aiming to kick-start production in the region.
Despite promising discoveries, the Agadem basin posed several challenges. Limited production history and geological complexities made it difficult to accurately assess the potential of the area. Our Client recognized the need for robust data analysis and innovative approaches to overcome these challenges and make informed decisions regarding exploration and development.
Our Client partnered with Belltree and leveraged bMark™, a cutting-edge data analysis tool, to enhance their understanding of the Agadem basin. Before and after a significant five-well exploration drilling campaign, our Client utilized bMark™ data trends to stress-test their pre-drill geological and development assumptions. This approach allowed them to refine their strategies and ensure they were based on accurate and reliable data.
A crucial aspect of our Client’s strategy was RF% benchmarking, which served to constrain and calibrate material balance and simulation modeling workflows. This step was essential in ensuring that results were not overly optimistic, given the limited production history of the area. By incorporating RF% benchmarking, our Client could validate their assumptions and make more realistic projections regarding production potential.
Following a successful exploration campaign, our Client proceeded to develop a comprehensive field development plan. They formally submitted the plan for an initial Early Production Scheme, marking a significant milestone in their efforts to unlock the potential of the Agadem basin. The plan aimed to kick-start development and pave the way for sustainable production in the region.
