Asian Gas-Oil-Condensate Field Development Benchmarking & Analogue Review
CASE STUDY BRIEF
Overview , Client Challenge
The client, after completion of a successful drilling campaign, was working towards submission of Final Investment Decision for an oil-gas-condensate discovery, offshore Asia. Fundamental questions on data assumptions, recovery factor prediction and development parameters required independent review to inform and validate. Moreover, there were Commercial constraints of gas export targets which provided additional prediction pressure.
However, several development parameters; such as plateau rate, number of wells and proportion of gas produced under plateau were highlighted as being optimistic. Subsequently, revisiting data and performing a sensitivity analysis was recommended.
Achievements
The project conclusions and recommendations were in-line with internal beliefs and concerns; Therefore, used as an independent support backing further investigation into several highlighted development considerations.
Solution by bMark™
During the 8 week project, analysis was successfully carried out within bMark™ to fully QC technical data and model inputs, and benchmark numerous field and development parameters to answer two questions: Are the reserves estimates robust? And, is the development and production profile reasonable? Generally, data, model inputs and recovery factor predictions were on trend with similar identified fields.
